One example is digital search. SAP Customer Experience Labs developed a prototype, called FashionLabs, which allows consumers to take a picture of an item of clothing and then, through visual analysis, shows them similar garments. The IP (intellectual property) for the visual search component in this prototype doesn’t come from SAP, but from a startup (Syte.ai).
Partnering with start-ups accelerates innovation and allows SAP to offer additional innovation to our customers. Startups are innovating in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI) in the service or marketing space, content management as well as helping to globalize or localize SAP’s solutions.
To tap this enormous potential for our customers, we are proud to announce the opening of a new SAP.iO Foundry in the heart of Munich, focused on customer experience. Joining the global network of SAP.iO Foundries, SAP’s top-tier startup programs, including accelerators, that enable start-ups to build innovative software that delivers value for SAP customers.
The SAP.iO Foundry Munich offers a ‘no-equity ask’ program that provides access to SAP APIs, SAP technologies, and opportunities to meet SAP’s customers. The upcoming SAP.iO Munich cohort will be focused on Customer Experience and Commerce with strategic participation from the SAP C4 HANA business unit at the highest level. We are looking for B2B enterprise SaaS start-ups to join us for our 2019 cohort, running from mid-September to early December 2019 – applications close July 1st.
The selected teams will be part of a 12-week in-house program in Munich at the SAP.iO Foundry. During the program, teams will get access to our customers and partners and be immersed in a highly curated program working alongside world-class executives and mentors with a focus on the unique challenges of B2B companies including Go-to-Market, Enterprise Sales, Marketing, Funding, Technology Scaling, Pricing, and Product Management Essentials. Besides getting access to SAP’s customers that will help them grow, the startups will also be integrating their solutions with the SAP C4 portfolio.
