? It’s the most entrepreneurial time of the year…

Ok, so that doesn’t quite do justice to the Christmas classic, but it certainly seems to be the case with all our

recent ecosystem activity!

Last month, the second volume of the Startup Guide Munich was published. Not only were both the SAP.iO Foundry Munich and SAP Next-Gen teams featured, but all of the photos were shot in the Showroom and Innovation Space! We even had our Labs colleagues Lars and Denise on hand to model – it was a lot of fun and the pictures were fantastic.

The Startup Guide is a series inspired by travel and destination books, providing directories of companies and services in various startup hubs around the world. As a startup itself, it became wildly popular as an informational asset and community building tool. To celebrate the new release for Munich, Startup Guide hosted a launch party and networking event for the contributors and supporters. Guest speakers included executives and entrepreneurs from BMW Startup Garage, startups Mindspace and Inveox, and our SAP Next-Gen colleague Deepa Gautam-Niigge. Their panel was really insightful, and I was able to snatch up extra copies of the already sold-out book!

Finally, last week we were fortunate to attend the Demo Day for the SAP.iO Foundry Berlin. Eugenio, Philippe, and I could not only meet the team and founders, but also see what goes into putting on a great Foundry event. The venue (directly on the Spree) was amazing, as was the program. We briefly met guest speaker Adaire Fox-Martin (SAP SE Executive Board, head of Global Customer Operations) and heard impressive pitches from the Summer 2019 cohort, devoted to Women and Diverse-led Tech Enterprise Acceleration.

All I can say is that the bar is set extremely high for the upcoming Foundry Munich kickoff next month…
