Enhanced simulation and trace possibilities
With the trace possibilities, you can improve the quality of complex products and product changes by high-efficient simulation. The new dependency trace displays the executed dependency per trace message. It provides detailed information by visualizing the input and output values. In addition to that, there are more filter possibilities for the trace. With the enhanced integration of routing comes the opportunity to check routings of non-configurable components. You can display filter operations and sequences from the trace messages. Furthermore, the super routing of a component could be displayed. With the enhanced simulation you have the possibility to reload master data and provide more details on related objects.
With the new engine enhancements, you can accelerate the ordering process and improve customer satisfaction, by having more flexibility in the modeling process. This is an extension concept to support customers, who have used variant functions and LO-VC in the past. The engine extension via BADIs allows you to assign values to characteristics before and after the engine validation. As an example, it could be used to integrate BRF+.
The Syntax enhancements provide additional capabilities as rounding functionality and trigonometric functions.
Integration of Order Engineering Workbench supporting classical Variant Configuration (LO-VC)
The customer development solution Order Engineering Workbench is now integrated into S/4HANA On-Premise and arrives with the 1909 On-Premise release, supporting the classical Variant Configuration (LO-VC). It helps to improve the Order Engineering for more efficient variant configuration and Sales Order BOM processing. The new capability has an intuitive user interface, including context menus and drag&drop options. It also provides versioning of characteristic value assignments and Sales Order BOMs. Versions can be reimported by rolling back functionalities. You can also reuse previously created order BOMs for similar sales orders in the past. The roll-back possibility and iterative development are increasing efficiency. Improving the traceability of all activities during the Order Engineering process reduces errors. Last but, not least, it saves time and costs by offering reuse possibilities.
With the new enhancement, you can increase operational efficiency through the advanced classification of the Document Info Record. The machine-learning-based text recognition algorithm identifies the characteristics and values of the uploaded Document and generates a recommendation. The proposal can be changed manually as required. What you would have classified manually earlier in the Document Info Record can now be automated through a faster and more efficient solution.
Another great functionality is the Enterprise Search, based on CDS views, which supports classes, characteristics, and classification.
